Repro jack pot! AKA small parts you might need for a project.

     I have not posted anything here in a while, sorry about that. I have been working on the ground floor of the shop diagnosing and selling bikes like crazy! We have been getting a lot of cool stuff this season so far to be offered for sale here soon. I will start with this new batch of repro small parts we got made. Hopefully they fill a need for some of our readers!
     First: I got a new batch of the repro suntour bar end / bar con shifter hardware assemblies! These were quite popular the first time around and I sold out quickly! Now is your second chance! They are made from stainless steel and are exact reproductions of the original assemblies. cost is $20.00 a pair with free shipping within the USA. international S/H is $12.00.  See photos for reference.      Second: We had a batch of Repro chain ring bolts for 5 pin steel BSA cranks made. These are for attaching chain rings to the drive side crank arm. See photos for reference. They are also made from stainless steel and are exact replicas of the originals. Cost is $40.00 a set (5) bolts. Free Shipping within the USA. $12.00 International S/H.      Third:  Next is a repro crank lock ring for Iver Johnson cranks. Originals are difficult to find and these are exact replicas of the originals. Not sure if these can be patina'd in an oil bath or not cost is $20.00 shipped within the USA. $12.00 S/H International.

     Fourth: Last  but not least are repro 2 pin  crank dust caps for Stronglight 49D cranks. These are 23.3mm size and are made out of aluminum. They can be easily polished up for a brilliant finish. These are not quite as domed on top as the originals, see photo. Originals of these are also quite rare and often damaged when you can find them. Excellent finishing touch for your Rando project! Patent Pending

     I find things while looking for other things on a daily basis around here. These items are a good example. These are two front derailleurs which have been modified to enhance their performance, I think. The first is the Campagnolo one which has had a much larger cage, (which has an adjustable outer plate) bolted to the stock inner cage plate. This was done, I assume to use a very small inner chain ring with a larger outer. My only question is: What was done to the rear derailleur to compensate for all those extra chain links?! Also of note is that this derailleur is an early version with the unslotted cable stop and bronze arms! The Second is a Suntour Cyclone which also has had the cage elongated for the same purpose. It was done by brazing on an additional length of cage to the existing one. Both are home spun solutions to a problem. I wonder if the creators got the desired results? One way to find out  I guess...

For Sale: Early 1980's Holdsworth Professional 58CM

     This is another excellent road bike offered for sale here today. It is an early 1980's Holdsworth Professional built with a mixed bag of components. It is built with Reynolds 531 double butted tubing and fork blades and Campagnolo drop outs and fork tips. The rear drive side drop out is drilled to accept the Campagnolo Porta Catena system, so that alone dates its production. That system was only available around 1981- 1983. The original decals are near perfect and the silver paint is nearly flawless. It reminds me of the classic Cinelli silver color, which aside from Molteni orange is my favorite color on a bike.
     The measurements are as follows:

• Seat tube is 58 CM CTC 
• Top tube is 57CM CTC
•  Stand over height is 33 1/2" (with air in the tires)

The components are:

• Mavic road hubs laced to unknown tubular (sew up) rims with Panaracer tires, they hold air.
• Campagnolo NR rear derailleur  (pat. 81) has red Bullseye pulleys.
• Front Campagnolo NR derailleur (with lip)
• Campagnolo NR crank set (date code 82) and Campagnolo NR  bottom bracket.
• Campagnolo clamp on down tube shifters.
• Suntour Superbe brake calipers and levers.
• Campagnolo NR headset.
• Campagnolo NR pedals (kind of crusty plating in areas)
• Campagnolo NR seat post 27,2.
• Campagnolo seat binder bolt.
• Brooks Professional saddle in well cared for condition (leather has been treated)
• Specialized bars 42 CM CTC wide and Specialized 80mm extension stem.
• White padded bar tape with Velox bar plugs.
• Serial number: 029822 stamped on BB shell

     The bike is in ready to ride condition. I gave it a brief, aggressive test ride, and it feels great!
