For Sale: 1986 World Championships track jacket!

     I don't normally offer this kind of stuff on the blog, but this is a pretty cool item i don't know where else to put. World Championship track jacket from 1986 in NOS, never really worn condition. Size adult large. pit to pit measures 24". arm length from pit is about 21". Collar to bottom of jacket measures 30". Top quality zipper does its job!
     Made of a wind breaker type material with front pockets. Logos are screen printed on front and back. Collar and cuffs are not stretched out at all! Virtually no yellowing of the material.
     You will look great in this at the velodrome or just posted up around town. Great light jacket for the coming spring weather, don't miss out! Cost is $70.00 plus S/H.

For Sale: 1940's track wheel set Siamt hubs Banfi rims

This is a pretty cool wheel set we recently acquired. The rims are the real stand out feature to me. They are stamped Banfi Canti & c.- Saronno- Brev.N. 330834-"made in Italy". this company was mostly known for making motorcycle rims. They did also make bicycle rims, which were a bit of a rarity. These rims are only 5mm tall! The spoke drillings are very close to the edges of the rim as well, 5mm again. The spoke nipples are filed off flush with the tire side of the rim, I imagine a very time consuming process.
     The hubs are pretty cool as well. They are made by Siamt, which was an Italian company. Siamt made very high quality hubs like their contemporaries F.B., who famously went on to produce hubs for Campagnolo when Tulio started production.
     The rear hub is single side track threading. No lock ring or axle nuts included. Also missing the non drive side lock nut. Front wheel is missing the axle assembly all together. The bearing races feel fine though.
      This is a rare opportunity to own a really cool wheel set from the 1940's to finish your Italian pista project! Rear wheel has a couple flat spots as well, but could be sorted out by a skilled mechanic.

For Sale: Nishiki Linear Pursuit / time trial bike

     This is a pretty unique bike we recently acquired. Nishiki Linear pursuit / time trial bike. It is from the mid 80's I believe. These are not UCI / USCF approved, so it would be a great beginners time trial bike or a good practice bike. It also just looks really cool. I always had a soft spot for time trial / funny bikes because they just look so fast, even standing still. You would definately turn heads even just cruising around town on this bike!
     Measurements are as follows: 50cm seat tube center to center. 55cm top tube, centwer to center. 30" effective stand over height ( at saddle).
     Tange 2 Chro-Moly tubing. Built by Kuwahara, designed by Specialized. Kind of a mix of componentry, 6 speed suntour freewheel 12-18 spread ( corn cob). ACS rear hub 36 hole. Suntour Radius rear derailleur. Suntour GPX front derailleur. Suntour XC crank set. Shimano 600 pedals. Suntour Exage brake levers. Shimano 600 head set. Shimano brakes. For Sale: BSA paratrooper bike

     This is a really cool bike we recently acquired. It is a World War II BSA paratrooper bike in fantastic original shape. The British WWII Airborne BSA  folding bicycle was used from 1942-1945 in the Second World War by British & Commonwealth airborne troops, Commandos and some infantry regiments. Some were also used as run-abouts on military bases.
      A folding bicycle was developed as a small size was needed to enable it to be taken on parachute jumps from aircraft or in small gliders. The War Office in 1941 called for a machine that weighed less than 23lb (this was not achieved - the final weight was about 32 pounds) and which would withstand being dropped by parachute. When parachuted, it was rigged to that the handlebars and seat were the first parts to hit the ground as bent wheels would disable the bike. BSA abandoned the traditional diamond design as too weak for the shock and made an elliptical frame of twin parallel tubes, one forming the top tube and seat stays and the other for the chainstay and down tube. The hinges were in front of the bottom bracket and in the corresponding position in front of the saddle, fastened by wing nuts. The peg pedals could be pushed in to avoid snagging and further reduce the space occupied during transit. The bicycle was used by British paratroopers, Commandos and second-wave infantry units on the D-Day landings and at the Battle of Arnhem.
     Our bike has the original saddle, grips, crankset and unique pedals. It also has war grade tires, I believe the rear which is made by  Dunlop, is the original. The front is made by Firestone, but I think we have the Dunlop here at the shop to match the rear. Overall, this bike is really something special, as not many have survived in this condition.
