This is a really nice, original chrome plating track frame fork we got not too long ago. I was told by the previous owner that it is a BSA, but I am not 100% sure. The only mark it has on it is the serial number #4021 stamped on the back of the seat lug and the drive side drop out. There is a BSA decal on the head tube, but it is not original. I believe they are letters bought at a hardware store or something and applied a long time ago, they are old. The chrome plating is original and in fantastic condition for its age. Very little if any at all peppering. Also included is the original BSA head set, which has integrated type cups and would be difficult to source. It feels very good for its age, could use an overhaul. The head tube and seat tube angles are very relaxed, more like a path racer type bike except the fork crown is not drilled for a brake and the rear brake bridge is very dainty (thin) and could not even be drilled safely to accept a rear brake. It has nice keyhole type lugs (BSA, perhaps) which have been thinned out some. The BB shell has a zirc (oiler) fitting and is English threaded. The ends of the seat stays at the drop outs are uncapped. The fork blades are "D" shaped and not round. Rear spacig is 115mm and front spacing is 100mm. Frame and fork are in alignment. No dents or dings, very well cared for. Requires a 26.8 seat post, which will be included as well (original to the bike).
The measurements are as follows:
- Seat tube: 56CM CTC
- Top tube: 61CM CTC
- Stand over height: 32" (with head set installed and air in the tires)
Cost is $420.00 plus S/H which will need to be calculated depending on location. We can also deliver to upcoming swap meets on the east coast. Westminster, Copake, Trexlertown , Monson, etc. Please contact me at: bikeville@gmail.com with any questions.
Thanks!
