Awesome customer's bike: 1919 Black Beauty trotter made by Haverford Cycle Co.

This is bike that belongs to a friend of ours / client of the shop. It is a 1919 Black Beauty Trotter model made by the Haverford Cycle Co. that was based right here in Philadelphia, PA. The owner is an equestrian, so the bike has multiple levels of interest to him. When I was in middle school I read the book Black Beauty by Anna Sewell which was first published in 1877. I always liked the story because one of her intentions with Black Beauty was to 'induce kindness, sympathy, and an understanding treatment of horses'. I did a book report on the book and received an A grade. One of  the last high points of my earlier schooling!
Anyway, this bike was totally overhauled by us and came up quite nicely. My favorite part is the head badge and really cool paint scheme. I always associate this "flashing" motif with six day bikes. It just looks really fast and sharp to me. Very cool chain ring pattern, similar to the Harley Davidson bikes in my mind. Also of note is the raised center portion of the outside of the fork leg, pretty nice. Check out this link to a 1917 catalog which features the Trotter model: Haverford Cycle Co. catalog 1917  Thanks for trusting us with servicing it and we are glad it has a great home. Enjoy the photos!

Repro jack pot! AKA small parts you might need for a project.

I have not posted anything here in a while, sorry about that. I have been working on the ground floor of the shop diagnosing and selling bikes like crazy! We have been getting a lot of cool stuff this season so far to be offered for sale here soon. I will start with this new batch of repro small parts we got made. Hopefully they fill a need for some of our readers!
First: I got a new batch of the repro suntour bar end / bar con shifter hardware assemblies! These were quite popular the first time around and I sold out quickly! Now is your second chance! They are made from stainless steel and are exact reproductions of the original assemblies. cost is $20.00 a pair with free shipping within the USA. international S/H is $12.00.  See photos for reference. SHIFTER IS NOT INCLUDED AND IS ONLY PICTURED FOR ILLUSTRATION PURPOSES.

Second: We had a batch of Repro chain ring bolts for 5 pin steel BSA cranks made. These are for attaching chain rings to the drive side crank arm. See photos for reference. They are also made from stainless steel and are exact replicas of the originals. Cost is $40.00 a set (5) bolts. Free Shipping within the USA. $12.00 International S/H. CRANK IS NOT INCLUDED AND ONLY SHOWN FOR ILLUSTRATION PURPOSES.

Third:  Next is a repro crank lock ring for Iver Johnson cranks. Originals are difficult to find and these are exact replicas of the originals. Not sure if these can be patina'd in an oil bath or not cost is $20.00 shipped within the USA. $12.00 S/H International.

Fourth: Last  but not least are repro 2 pin  crank dust caps for Stronglight 49D cranks. These are 23.3mm size and are made out of aluminum. They can be easily polished up for a brilliant finish. These are not quite as domed on top as the originals, see photo. Originals of these are also quite rare and often damaged when you can find them. Excellent finishing touch for your Rando project! Cost is $40.00 a pair shipped within the USA and $12.00 S/H International. CRANK IS NOT INCLUDED IN PRICE AND IS ONLY USED FOR ILLUSTRATION PURPOSES.
