I like the different tread patterns on the tires, so it leaves a nice trail. One is 'chaintread' and the other leaves X's.

Chandez curved cranks

Chandez cranks, manuf. by Chalaye of St.Etienne, used by Harry Grant for hour motor-paced record.

These are an interesting find because they are for a square taper spindle, whereas the others I have ever seen have all been the cottered crank design.

1901 Rambler Model 43

This was a frameset for sale at the Monson swap meet. Kinda nice seeing the embellishments later found on Hetchins at the same swap meet.

1937 Hetchins Brillant sold

1937 Hetchins Brillant. 57cm center to center seattube and toptube. It was built for 26 1 1/4" wheels(597 bead seat diameter). The frameset is outfitted with a Chater Lea floating race headset(minus the bearings) and a Chater Lea cottered bottom bracket. The paint restoration was done by Brian Bayliss a long time ago, maybe a decade??? by the previous owner.

I bought it a couple years ago with full intention of building it up, I located cranks, wheels and other bits but realize I am not ever going to build up. In fact, it has not been built up since the paint restoration.

The frame is a little dusty in the pictures, from sitting around for a couple years.

Hetchins Stem

This Hetchins stem is amazing. Of course it is not a Hetchins built piece, but none the less, it looks like the perfect on this Magnum Opus. This bike as beautiful in person as you can see in these two photographs.

Another awesome Employee bicycle- Davis's Bilenky

Davis(David to his mother and father), has been working at Via Bicycle for some time now, many 7 years, maybe 300, it's hard to say, he seems to know everything about the business. He works part time at Bilenky Cycle Works in North Philly learning the bicycle building trade there, I assume to one up me. Under the firm tutelage of Simon Firth and Stephen Bilenky, this bicycle was built for him, by him, with a little help from his friends. Bilenky Cycles, known for their retrofitting of S & S couplers on frames to make them more transportable, is a formidable bicycle building force. The frameset is built up with a mix of Shimano and Campagnolo, even with a hint of Velo Orange.

Maybe if I felt like working 7 days a week, I would be up at Bilenky Cycles as well. But I am known for being kinda lazy, only working 6 days a week at the bicycle shop. I love the vibrant seatstays, reminiscent of the Hetchins I own.
