Awesome Customer's Bike: Motobecane Grand Jubilee

     This is a bike that recently came in for a complete overhaul. We disassembled, cleaned, re-assembled, and adjusted all the bearing assemblies as well as all the other services involved in our tune-up. We also added the Mafac Racer brakes, T.A. front rack, and Velo Orange fenders. This bike is really clean! It has my personal favorite derailleurs, the Huret Jubilee as well as the Jubilee shifters and cable guide. The Reynolds 531 decal is home made, placed over the original. Thanks for trusting us with this fine machine!

Awesome customer's bike: Gios Pista

     This bike belongs to a good customer of ours. It was in the shop for a component change last week. We also recently overhauled the Campagnolo TBS pedals not too long ago for him. He also owns the emerald green Raleigh Pista bike I posted here a little while back. This one is a heavily  patina'd Gios Pista / track frame and fork set up with Campagnolo C-record components. Most striking are the sheriff star hubs, a stylish classic as well as the head set and cranks. This bike is aged to perfection, in my opinion. Used as a work bike no doubt for a while. I really like bikes that show what they have been through. I am not a re-paint guy, unless Peter Weigle does it, his re-finish work is top shelf! Enjoy the photos!

Awesome Customer's bike: Raleigh Track

     This bike belongs to a repeat customer / client of ours. It is a super cool Raleigh Track bike. I am a bit perplexed by it though because of the paint. I have never seen an emerald green one like this. I assume it was re-painted and decaled at some point in its life. It has the older type flat fork crown. It does not have the chromed "socks" on the rear triangle or fork blades though. Also, usually the rear drop outs are drilled, these are not. all that aside, I really love the paint on this bike, metallic emerald green! It sparkles like crazy in the sun. The rear wheel does not go with the bike. I put that one in just to take photos. We are calculating spokes for a wheel matching the front. The customer is handling the build. Also of note is the matching green spoke nipples on the front wheel (last photo), very sharp.  Enjoy the photos.

Awesome customer's bike: Early 1970's Pete Matthews

     This bike belongs to one of our best customers. He recently acquired it and brought it in for us to assemble / service.  He rode it for the The Great British Bike Weekend that happened over the weekend here in Philly. It is an early 1970's Pete Matthews. Mr. Matthews is mostly known for his wheel building skills and gained a worldwide reputation for his very lightweight and durable wheels.      The bike pre-dates him taking over Jim Soens bikeshop in Liverpool , England by about two years. The owner estimates the bike to be from 1970. it is a very nicely constructed road bike with eyelets for fenders (common on British bikes due to frequent bad weather). It has nice long lug points and elegant fully wrapping seat stays. Not to mention the nice sunburst style pinstriping on the fully sloping Cinelli fork crown. Also of note is the modified Campagnolo front derailleur. The clamp band has been thinned (filed) and drilled. It is also an early version with the bronze arms. The cable stop has also been cut off and filed smooth. This bike rides great and when test riding it, I imagined it would be a perfect bike to do a century on, quite comfy. Enjoy the photos!
